This affordable vacuum sealer is easy to use and has a consistently good performance. With a press of a button, you’ll be able to get a perfectly sealed pouch that’s ready to be immersed in a hot water bath! While Nesco VS-02 Food Vacuum Sealing System might not feature any of the bonus features and different modes of operation like some other vacuum sealer models, you can choose between normal and extended seal time, to ensure your wet foods get properly sealed. This is also handy if you happen to buy thicker bags, as the longer seal time will ensure a strong seal, regardless of the bag you’re using.
To help save space and make the whole process go a lot smoother, Nesco VS-02 Food Vacuum Sealing System has a built-in roll storage compartment and a bag cutter. Simply leave the vacuum bag roll inside the unit in between uses, and cut to perfect size manually, ensuring that you don’t waste material and always have the ideal pouch for your food.
Cons of Nesco VS-02 Food Vacuum Sealing System
- not for heavy-duty use
Considering it’s under $50 price tag, it doesn’t come as a surprise that this vacuum sealer is intended for home use only. While the Nesco VS-02 Food Vacuum Sealing System is an excellent choice for beginners and moderate users, people who need a vacuum sealer for bulk and heavy-duty use might be disappointed with this model. In case you need a more powerful device, it’s worth investing in a commercial grade vacuum sealer or a chamber vacuum sealer, as these gadgets won’t have any issue handling whatever you want them to.

The Nesco VS-02 Food Vacuum Sealing System is affordable, easy to use, and delivers excellent results without much hassle- all of which make it ideal for beginners in sous vide cooking, who want a dependable home-use unit. The convenient bag cutter is an added bonus, as it will ensure that your sous vide pouches are always the right size and help you save money in the long run- you won’t be wasting any bag space with this nifty sealer.
I like it. It has done great for me, except it is hard to clean. It doesn’t have a removable drip tray so when you are sealing raw chicken or pork and the juices get inside the machine. . . . It is a pain to clean. But, for the money, I like it.
Hey Eric. You’re absolutely right there. The benefit of higher priced units, in theory if not in practice, is not having to deal with issues like the one described. A place for every price, so to speak.
Where did anyone get one for under $50.?
Hiya Deborah – our prices are usually in USD unless stated otherwise (https://www.amazon.com/VS-02-Vacuum-Sealing-System-Starter/dp/B00IUAK39A). With shipping and all that there’s no doubt that online orders will roll over the $50 mark, unfortunately.
