The taste of this scrumptious and decadent dessert is only matched by how insanely easy it is to make. These portion-sized desserts are the perfect solution to wow your dinner guests or make birthday parties a breeze.
Chocolate Version
1/2 cup milk
2/3 cup heavy cream
4 egg yolks
4oz chocolate
2 tbsp + 1 1/2 tsp sugar
dash of salt
Chocolate shavings or finely ground espresso to top
White Chocolate Version
1/2 cup milk
2/3 cup heavy cream
4 egg yolks
4oz white chocolate
2 tbsp + 1 1/2 tsp sugar
dash of salt
Crushed macadamia nuts for topping
1Pre-heat sous vide machine to 180F.
2Heat heavy cream and milk over medium-high heat in a pot. Once boiling, remove from heat and whisk in chocolate until fully incorporated.
3In a bowl, mix the egg yolks, sugar, and salt. While stirring, slowly whisk the chocolate creme mixture into the bowl until fully incorporated. Set aside to cool for 30 minutes and remove any air bubbles from the top, if necessary.
4Evenly distribute the creme mixture into mini mason jars and lightly tighten the lids (do not over tighten - air bubbles need room to escape). Cook for 45 minutes.
5Carefully remove from water bath using tongs and let chill on the counter until cool to touch (about 1 hour).
6Place pot de creme in refrigerator for at least 4 hours.
7Open lid, top with espresso or macadamia nuts, and enjoy!
