Best Vitamix Blenders

The blender, that lovable small kitchen appliance that helps make food prep so easy, was invented in 1922 in the United States by Stephen Poplawsky. A lot has changed since the first patent of this beverage container equipped with a rotating agitator began helping cooks turn fruit and vegetables into a healthy liquid.

With many different blenders developed since then, one brand stands out in reputation for durability, quality and features: Vitamix. That being said, there are many Vitamix models available, each with its own set of special features.

Which one you decide to choose depends on a number of factors, since even the smallest, least expensive Vitamix blender costs a few hundred dollars, and the higher end ones can cost between $500 and $800, and more than $1,000 for a commercial series.

That’s why we’ve done the research for you. We feature four Vitamix blenders you can buy online. Read on to find the one that best suits your needs.

Top Pick Best Affordable: Vitamix E310 Explorian Blender

You’ve been thinking about purchasing a blender for a long time, but you just don’t know which brand to buy. Things to look out for:

Consider these things when looking for a Vitamix blender so you will choose the one that best suits your needs:

The Vitamix series

There are five different Vitamix countertop blenders. Each series has its own price range, warranty and features. All of them have the same quality and standards for which the Vitamix brand is known, but you will want to choose one that best defines your needs. The following is a short description of each series.

The S series

The S-series Vitamix blenders come with 20- and 40-ounce BPA-free containers and are perfect for small families, individual use or for anyone who lives in a smaller space with less counter space. They are less versatile than models in the other series, but are still ideal for mixing soup, blending smoothies and frozen dessert.

The Classic series

This first generation Vitamix collection has intuitive controls and a simple design, and allows the option of different sized containers, from 32 ounces to 48 ounces and 64 ounces.

The Ascent series

This series is equipped with the latest technology, such as the self-direct technology, and are smart blenders with extra-large containers measuring 64 ounces. They are perfect for making large batches that can serve four or more people.

The Commercial series

This series has five models, which includes: the Quiet One (48-ounce), the Drink Machine Advance (48-ounce), the Drink Machine Two-Speed (64-ounce), the T&G 2 Blending Station (32-ounce), and the Blending Station Advance (48-ounce). The containers on all the models in this series are made of high-impact plastic to endure the high-volume use typically found in restaurants, bars, canteen, or coffee shops.

The Exploration series

This Vitamix series features the E310 and E320 models and are the least expensive of all the new Vitamix blenders that are available. They also have the shortest warranty of five years. The E310 features a 48-ounce container and can be compatible with a 32-ounce wet and dry jar, which is great for a small to medium batch size. The E320 models have a 64-ounce low-profile container. They are also compatible with a 32-ounce and 48-ounce container, allowing them to fit under most 18-inch-high upper cabinets.

The containers

Generally speaking, Vitamix containers are made of a special plastic material called Eastman Tritan copolyester, and are BPA-free.

Low profile containers can fit under most cabinets. Compared to narrow bottom containers, they are wide at the bottom. They also have more room for the food to circulate so that foods do not get clogged up in the corner, especially when you blend chopped vegetables. Due to the large size, these containers are not good for one-cup recipes, such as salad dressing or mayonnaise.

Dry blades containers are built for grinding dry ingredients, like rice, oats or whole grains. They have a narrower body than the 64-ounce containers with a different blade assembly. The blades are also shaped differently so as to push the ingredients away from them when they are grinding. That way, things won’t get stuck at the bottom of the container and will be easily ground.

As it sounds, wet blade containers are the same as the low-profile containers but with a smaller batch size and good for blending wet ingredients.
