Best Bundt Cake Pan

Everyone loves cake. What’s not to love? There are so many permutations and combinations on flavors, fillings and icing – baking a cake for someone is love personified into a round layer of sweetness. Although many people enjoy a two-layered cake, making one in a bundt pan brings it to another level of enjoyment.

Although a bundt cake pan is one layer, it’s special shape and center funnel allows you to slice deep and delicious servings similar to a double layer cake.  However, with a bundt cake, there is no fuss – just pour the batter into one pan and the result is a tall, deep slice of deliciousness. Plus, the other great thing about a bundt cake pan is that it is available in different sizes, so you can make a large one for the family or smaller, individual cakes, too.

With so many models and materials to choose from, we feature bundt cake pans you can purchase online. Read on to find the one – or two – that match your needs.

1. Top Pick: Nordic Ware Pro Cast Original Bundt Pan

Nordic Ware is a popular brand known for its heavy-duty, long-lasting bakeware, and this 12-cup bundt cake pan is no exception.

Made from strong and durable cast aluminum, this full-size bundt cake pan turns out a hearty dessert that can serve eight to 10 people. The pan heats evenly for the kind of texture and color you want for a beautiful-looking, perfectly baked cake.

Things to look out for:

Consider these factors when choosing a bundt pan:

Size: As you can see by the selection in our recommended list, bundt cake pans come in a variety of sizes. Which size you choose depends upon your need and preference, and the number of people you want to serve at one time. If you are an avid baker, it pays to have a few different sizes in the cupboard so that you can make a variety of cakes when the mood hits.

Type/Material:

Aluminum: Many bundt cake pans are made from aluminum. This is because aluminum is a great heat conductor and is known for its even heat distribution that provides excellent baking results. Aluminum pans are also usually well constructed and durable and become part of a baker’s long-term baking arsenal. Uncoated aluminum pans will need to be greased and floured before baking so the cake doesn’t stick to the sides when you want to take it out of the pan. If you don’t want to add calories, you can look for an aluminum bundt cake pan that has a non-stick coating.

Silicone: This is a good alternative for anyone who does not like to use bakeware that has a non-stick coating. Silicone has a high heat resistance, is reusable and flexible, and is safe to use in the oven, microwave, freezer and dishwasher. Food release is often easy, although with very small bundt cake molds, some cake can stick to the sides. Silicone can be very floppy, so you may want to find one that has a metal rim for more stability. Of course, with the metal in it, it cannot be used in the microwave. As well, make sure you purchase one that is made from 100 percent food grade silicone.
